Local partners from nearly all SHARE studies joined researchers from the Pulte Institute to present findings at the Comparative
& International Education Society (CIES) Annual Conference in Miami in March 2024. The conference provided a significant
opportunity to elevate Global South expertise across the education sector.
“These researchers were able to present their own research and be connect with both academics and implementers from around
the globe as the experts on these topics within their country,” Andrea McMerty-Brummer, associate director of Innovation and
Practice for the Pulte Institute, said.
Key discussion topics included a newly developed method to measure teacher well-being and children’s socio-emotional
learning in conflict-affected regions; engagement of local stakeholders in the research process; and approaches to language of
instruction transitions.
